THE RESULTS OF OURSURVEY ARE IN!

The following two questions were asked of 27 juniors and seniors who attend Yorktown High School in Arlington, Virginia.

Question 1: Do you think if students had a way of communicating their problems anonymously (like a “Dear Abby,” type program for schools), where they could get feedback anonymously, that it would help to reduce teen problems with school violence, depression, stress, eating disorders, etc.? Yes, No, or Unsure

Question 2: Do you think that a higher punishment policy for school violence and gang membership would lead to less school violence? Yes, No, or Unsure

The Survey Results
In English

The results of the survey showed that 48% of the teenage students thought that an anonymous “Dear Abby” program by schools may help to decrease school violence and other problems experienced by teenagers.

Asked whether a higher punishment for school violence and gang membership would help to decrease school violence, 41 % responded no, while about 25% answered yes and the remaining students were unsure.
